How do I get started with Chargie?

Make sure you have the Chargie app downloaded and have logged in to your account before you begin. It’s free and available in both the App Store and Play Store. Download the app, add a payment method, plug in your vehicle, scan the QR code on the charging station and start your charge.

  1. Download the app
  2. Create an account
  3. Plug in your vehicle
  4. Scan the QR code
  5. Start your charge
How do I find a charging station?

As of now, Chargie is primarily available in private residential and multifamily buildings. Contact your property manager to learn if Chargie stations have been installed at your building. We are working to install more publicly accessible locations to charge.

What are the different types of EV chargers?
  1. Level 1 charging uses a standard wall outlet (110V) and offers about 3-8 miles of charge per hour.
  2. Level 2 charging uses a higher voltage (220V) that offers about 15-30 miles of charge per hour.
  3. Level 3 (DCFC) charging uses a specialized high-voltage connection that offers the fastest charging speeds and can completely charge most EVs in under an hour.
Which electric vehicles are compatible with Chargie charging stations?

Chargie Level 2 chargers support the J1772 (J plug) standard which is compatible with all North American vehicles. Chargie Level 3 fast chargers provide both CSS and CHAdeMO plugs on every station. Tesla drivers can charge on Level 2 chargers using the J plug adapter that comes included with their vehicle. Tesla drivers will need an adapter for either CSS or CHAdeMO, which is not included with their vehicle, to charge on a Level 3 fast charging station.

Do I need to reserve a charger in advance?

No need to reserve a charger in order to use it. However, chargers in some locations may be assigned to a specific resident or parking space.
